Software Engineer

I never formally studied software engineering. I learned through trial by fire, freelancing in Ireland, then joined a Swiss consultancy at mid-level. I kept learning, from senior to principal, and eventually technical co-founder and CTO.

I wrote every line of Lore Frog’s codebase and decided its structures, modules, and constraints. I really love how it all fits together. There’s a feeling of competence and craftsmanship in knowing a codebase so well that a new feature or bug is easy to wrap your head around. There are always a few ways to solve a problem, but usually a right way within that particular codebase.

With my newer AI-created projects, I’m producing more code but writing none of it. I’m not really looking into the code anymore, and I don’t know that I’ll ever need to again. Losing that familiarity felt like a loss. I’m still a puzzle-solver, though, and I still care about thinking deeply and making the right thing easy, in the code and for the people using it.

Most of my work is private. What I can share here is the playing and trying things. I have a lot of ideas. These first two experiments were the ones I could bundle up and fit into the site. More will find their way here over time.
